Job summary

First Citizens Bank is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and operate modern data pipelines in a cloud-based platform. You will own end-to-end pipeline components, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with Leads to enforce architectural standards.

You will implement Medallion architecture patterns, ingestion via Qlik Replicate, and dbt-based transformations in Snowflake. This hands-on role combines development, testing, and governance in a remote-friendly environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and build data pipelines using Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold).
• Develop ingestion pipelines using Qlik Replicate for snapshot and CDC patterns.
• Develop dbt models using SQL and Jinja templating; implement automated data quality tests.
• Implement Snowflake ingestion patterns using Snowpipe and Tasks; RBAC and masking.
• Develop and operate data workloads on AWS (S3, Lambda, ECS Fargate, Glue, etc.).
• Mentor junior data engineers through code reviews and guidance.
• Collaborate with Leads on design decisions and translate requirements into technical solutions.
