Job summary

Piper Companies is seeking a Sr. Data Engineer to design and implement a modern, cloud-based data platform for global luxury travel bookings.

This fully remote role offers hands-on leadership in a small team, mentoring colleagues and driving data innovation with Azure Fabric, Data Factory, Spark, and Python. You will build scalable pipelines, optimize integrations, and ensure reliable data operations while collaborating with internal stakeholders and vendors.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in data engineering with SQL, Python and modern data platforms.
• Experience with Azure Fabric preferred; Snowflake/Databricks a plus.
• ETL, data modeling, and data orchestration experience.
• Leadership in small to mid-sized teams and mentoring capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development and optimization of scalable data pipelines and ETL workflows.
• Use Azure Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Spark and Python to automate data processes.
• Develop and maintain API integrations (REST/SOAP) with vendors and stakeholders.
• Provide technical leadership through code reviews and mentoring.
