Job summary

First Citizens Bank is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and operate modern data pipelines in a cloud-based platform. The role is remote and reports to the Lead Data Engineer, focusing on implementing, enhancing, and supporting pipelines within established patterns.

Senior Data Engineers are expected to be daily hands-on contributors who can independently deliver complex pipeline components, mentor junior engineers, and grow toward platform ownership and technical leadership.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and building data pipelines using cloud platforms.
• Proficient in Python development for data workflows.
• Strong SQL, dbt modeling, and data quality testing.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement Bronze/Silver/Gold data pipelines.
• Develop and support ingestion using Qlik Replicate.
• Create dbt models and CI/CD deployments for transforms.
• Apply Snowflake RBAC, masking, and governance patterns.
• Collaborate with Leads and stakeholders to translate requirements.
• Mentor junior data engineers through code reviews.
