Job summary

First Citizens Bank is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our Data Platform Engineering Organization. This remote role supports cloud-based data solutions, data warehousing, and modern data engineering practices across the bank.

You will build and optimize scalable data pipelines using AWS, Snowflake, dbt, Python, and SQL, collaborating with partners and stakeholders to enable analytics and data-driven decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree with 4 years of experience in Data Engineering or related fields, or 8 years with HS diploma.
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms, data warehousing, ETL/ELT development.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support scalable data pipelines and data warehouses using AWS, Snowflake, dbt, Python, and SQL.
• Develop and maintain ETL/ELT processes, data integrations, and transformation frameworks for operational and analytical workloads.
• Implement data quality controls, reconciliation processes, testing frameworks, and dbt tests for trusted data assets.
• Optimize data pipeline performance and operational efficiency via monitoring, CI/CD, automation, and dashboards.
• Develop monitoring dashboards and operational metrics to improve platform visibility and reliability.
• Support deployment automation, release validation, and environment promotion for reliable delivery.
• Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to deliver scalable data solutions that meet objectives.
• Contribute to engineering best practices through code reviews, documentation, and continuous improvement.
• Leverage AI-powered tools to improve development, testing, and delivery outcomes.
