Carhartt, Inc. is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize secure, scalable data solutions in a remote-capable role based in Dearborn, MI. You will lead Azure Databricks-based pipelines, Lakehouse architecture, and governance while mentoring engineers and collaborating with analytics, security, and product teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in data engineering, data warehousing, BI, or cloud data platforms.
• Experience designing and supporting enterprise data solutions with Azure Databricks and Lakehouse.
• Advanced data pipeline design, batch/streaming patterns, scheduling, monitoring, and recovery.
• Advanced SQL with data modeling, performance tuning, and complex transformations.
• Professional Python and PySpark experience.
• Experience with Azure Databricks, Delta Lake, ADLS, ADF, Unity Catalog, and related Azure services.
• Data modeling across conceptual, logical, dimensional, and physical layers.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support scalable data pipelines using Azure Databricks, ADF, Python, PySpark, SQL.
• Evolve Lakehouse architecture with Delta Lake and ADLS, reusable data products, and medallion layers.
• Create and optimize conceptual, logical, dimensional, relational, and physical data models for analytics.
• Optimize pipelines, SQL queries, clusters, storage layouts, and processing patterns for performance and cost.
• Implement orchestration, monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability for production data workloads.
• Apply data governance and quality practices including metadata, cataloging, validation, and access controls.
• Engineer reusable datasets and features supporting reporting, analytics, data science, and AI/ML.
• Lead technical design discussions, establish standards, conduct reviews, document decisions.
