Job summary

Shelter Animals Count, a program of the ASPCA, is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to own the data-request pipeline from intake to delivery. You will lead data quality investigations, support ML and forecasting work, and translate complex datasets into actionable insights for national policy and shelter operations.

You will work with internal teams and external partners, handling large datasets, and ensuring accuracy, documentation, and reproducibility in all analyses.

Qualifications

• Self-driven with ability to manage multiple data requests.
• Experience communicating results to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with animal welfare data preferred.
• Experience with sheltering data systems (e.g., PetPoint, Shelterluv) is a plus.
• Knowledge of data governance and documentation best practices.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end insights pipeline from intake to delivery.
• Maintain request tracking via Zendesk/HubSpot/Asana.
• Translate complex datasets into actionable insights for stakeholders.
• Create clear data visuals and summary tables for diverse audiences.
• Develop reusable analytical scripts (SQL/Python/R) and documentation.
• Design dashboards and automate data analysis workflows.
• Collaborate across SAC and ASPCA teams to meet shared goals.
• Monitor data quality and improve data governance processes.
