CareDx is a leading precision medicine diagnostics company advancing care in transplant, oncology, and cell therapy. The Senior Data and AI Engineer will lead data pipelines that convert real-world EMR data into reliable clinical data using NLP and structured processing.

The role blends data engineering, clinical NLP, and OMOP CDM implementation with collaboration from clinicians. Responsibilities include building end-to-end pipelines, applying HL7, ICD, SNOMED and RxNorm terminologies, and

Competenze

7+ years in NLP, ML, or applied AI engineering with production delivery.
3+ years building clinical NLP from real-world EHR notes.
Advanced Python/SQL, ETL, data modeling, and data quality checks.
Experience with HL7 FHIR and data integration from EMRs.
OHDSI/OMOP data modeling and terminology management.

Mansioni

Design and maintain data pipelines for structured EMR data and unstructured notes.
Develop extraction workflows for diagnoses, symptoms, labs, meds, and procedures.
Normalize codes using ICD, SNOMED CT, RxNorm, LOINC and manage mappings.
Implement clinical context interpretation: negation, temporality, etc.
Handle note structure, conflicts, and longitudinal timelines.
Build hybrid approaches with rules, dictionaries, ML, and LLMs; validate outputs.
Collaborate with clinicians to define data schemas and acceptance criteria.
Measure performance with clinical error analysis and cross-hospital validation.
Document architecture, lead reviews, and mentor engineers.
Ensure HIPAA-aligned security, logging, and compliant data handling.
