Job summary

Bayview Asset Management, LLC is seeking a Sr. Associate, Valuations to support internal decision-making for commercial real estate and lending lines. You will interact with management, clients, vendors, brokers, property managers, and leasing agents to form and present value opinions.

The role requires a strong understanding of valuation concepts, loan underwriting, and analytical communication. MAI or advanced candidacy is preferred; Bachelor's degree is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Seven years of current experience in commercial real estate appraisal.
• MAI or advanced candidate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform internal evaluations on commercial real estate assets, mainly >$10M, domestically with some international exposures.
• Formulate and present well-researched opinions of value on real estate collateral and associated risks.
• Conduct market research via conversations with real estate brokers, property managers, and leasing agents.
• Prepare internal evaluations on CMBS assets and present to the credit committee within tight timeframes (2–4 hours).
• Conduct periodic loan surveillance and report risks to management.
• Evaluate appraisals for accuracy, compliance with policies, and underwriting guidelines; coordinate with third-party appraisers.
• Rate vendor performance to support ongoing use of approved appraisers and broker panel.
• Perform internal evaluations on some residential 1-4 unit properties, domestic and international.
• Conduct property site inspections as needed.
• Stay current on appraisal regulations, guidelines, and industry standards.
• Perform other duties as needed.
