Job summary

Goodwin Recruiting's client is seeking a hands-on Tax Manager to own corporate tax for venture-backed startup clients. You will review and sign off on C-Corp returns, manage multi-state compliance, and provide light advisory as companies scale. This is a newly created, high-impact role with direct leadership exposure. Fully remote position.

Require 5–10 years of US corporate tax experience, CPA, and strong Form 1120/multi-state expertise. Salary ranges from $120,000 to $150,000 per year.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of US corporate tax experience in public accounting or in-house.
• Strong C-Corp compliance and Form 1120 experience.
• Multi-state income and franchise tax experience.
• CPA certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Review and sign off on federal and state C‑Corp returns (Form 1120).
• Manage multi-state compliance including nexus analysis and franchise tax.
• Review R&D tax credit calculations (Form 6765) including payroll tax offsets.
• Support ASC 740 income tax provisions for clients with audited financials.
• Provide light tax advisory to founders on entity structuring, equity, and state nexus.
• Identify opportunities to automate tax processes and scale the team.
• Collaborate with bookkeeping and CFO service teams to align tax and financial reporting.
