Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is seeking a Contract Specialist III to coordinate contracting activities, manage RFP development, and support contract administration for Hospitals Section in Austin.

The role requires analyzing contract performance, risk assessment, and ensuring compliance with state and federal policies. Telework eligibility is noted, with a regular day shift and travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• Three years’ experience in interpreting policies, rules and regulations of State and or Federal laws.
• Three years’ experience in contract management and monitoring.
• Three years’ experience in contract development.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates contracting activities including RFP development, timeline setting, and contract type determination.
• Collaborates with programs to define service requirements, review criteria, and evaluation tools.
• Monitors, tracks, and ensures response to written questions about the RFP submitted by potential bidders.
• Assists with contract budget reviews, contract funding allocation decisions, negotiations of revised budgets and performance measures with selected applicants.
