Job summary

PurposeEnergy LLC in Salem, NH seeks a Director of Commercial Contracts & Legal Operations to own the full lifecycle of commercial agreements across feedstock supply, offtake, soil amendment, interconnection, and vendor contracts. This is a senior, hands-on role focusing on structuring, negotiation, execution, renewal, and closeout.

You will build playbooks, templates, and a centralized CLM system, coordinating with business and legal teams while guiding risk and exceptions.

Qualifications

• JD preferred; BA/BS with equivalent experience considered.
• 7+ years negotiating and managing commercial contracts.
• Full lifecycle contracting experience with risk assessment and approvals.
• Experience guiding business teams and managing outside counsel.
• Strong judgment balancing risk and commercial progress.
• Excellent organization, project management, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead negotiation and lifecycle management of commercial agreements end-to-end.
• Central resource for contract interpretation, risk, and guidance to business teams.
• Develop contract templates, playbooks, clauses, and approval thresholds.
• Manage closings, conditions precedent, signatures, amendments, and handoffs.
• Build a centralized contract lifecycle management system with auditable files.
• Monitor renewal windows, escalators, insurance deadlines, and actions.
• Produce risk assessments and summaries for leadership, lenders, and auditors.
• Manage internal workflows and outside counsel with budgets and timelines.
• Partner with Origination, Development, Finance, Accounting, Construction, Operations; implement AI tools.
