Job summary

UC Irvine is seeking a Senior Contract & Grant Analyst to manage pre-award proposals, budgeting, and award administration within the School of Medicine. You will coordinate with PI teams, ensure regulatory compliance, and prepare reports for leadership.

Remote work is supported with periodic travel to UCI for staff retreats and meetings. The role requires experience in contract and grant administration, knowledge of sponsor guidelines, and strong writing and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Must be able to independently manage a significant volume of transactions.
• Proficiency with spreadsheet and database software for financial analysis and reporting.
• Strong organization, communication skills, and customer service focus.
• Knowledge of compliance regulations in research administration.
• Understanding of generally accepted accounting and reporting principles.
• Familiarity with grant funding processes and sponsor guidelines.
• Strong writing skills for diverse audiences; adherence to sponsor guidelines.
• Knowledge of NIH grant policies governing proposals and awards.

Responsibilities

• Independently develop or oversee preparation and submission of research proposals (basic and clinical).
• Maintain contract and grant records in compliance with policies.
• Prepare budgets for diverse proposals and analyze data for compliance.
• Review and process pre-award transactions and Just-In-Time activities.
• Assist faculty with training on proposal routing and award management.
