Job summary

The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) seeks a qualified auditor to audit and review complex systems to evaluate compliance, internal controls, and regulatory adherence. The role supports the Office of Institutional Compliance and reports on the adequacy of controls across departments.

Responsibilities include conducting audits, developing risk assessments, and coordinating investigations related to COI, HIPAA/privacy, and billing compliance with strong data-analysis and reporting skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and four (4) years of experience in an audit or investigation function preferred.
• Experience with compliance and regulatory requirements is advantageous.
• Ability to analyze data, identify risks, and communicate findings clearly.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and conducts audits of compliance activities for the Office of Institutional Compliance to ensure adherence to laws and regulations.
• Develops risk assessments, dashboards, and reports for leadership and compliance committees.
• Reviews conflicts of interest disclosures and monitors related management plans.
• Supports privacy, billing/coding, and other compliance initiatives and education programs.
