Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Senior Cloud Administrator to support the DOI USGS Permitting Modernization and Cloud Infrastructure program on the WARP platform. This fully remote role serves as the day‑to‑day owner of AWS cloud infrastructure for 50+ engineers, 20 business analysts, and Government personnel across separate dev/test/stage/prod environments.

You will manage AWS Marketplace subscriptions, enforce security controls, monitor health, and handle AWS support escalations in a strict FedRAMP

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on system or cloud administration experience, 3+ years in AWS
• Experience administering multi-environment AWS platforms at enterprise or federal scale
• Proficiency with AWS core services: EC2, S3, Lambda, Fargate, ECS/EKS, VPC, AWS Backup
• IAM policy enforcement, SCPs, Service Quotas, access governance in AWS Organizations
• KMS, CloudTrail, CloudWatch, and centralized S3 log archival
• Experience managing AWS Marketplace subscriptions and procurement workflows
• Identity and access management best practices and federated identity management
• Understanding of ETL pipelines and data platform operations in cloud
• Familiarity with NIST SP 800-34/64 and DOI security policies
• Ability to create runbooks, contingency plans, and incident response records
• FedRAMP Moderate or higher environment experience
• AWS support relationship management and vendor escalation
• Certifications: AWS CloudOps Associate or AWS Solutions Architect Associate/Professional

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain all AWS cloud environments for the WARP platform
• Manage AWS Marketplace subscriptions and provisioning for workloads
• Monitor environment health with CloudWatch and triage incidents
• Coordinate with AWS for service limits and infrastructure issues
• Control consumption to prevent budget overruns with FinOps
• Manage data operations: cross-AZ/region transfers, KMS, CloudTrail, S3 logging, AWS Backup
• Administer Databricks clusters, storage, and networking
• Manage user access for contractors and Government personnel and notify COR of changes
• Maintain security agreements and DOI behavior documentation for unsupervised access
• Assist in maintaining C&A docs and contingency plans per NIST guidance
• Perform system administration in Government-designated environments
• Complete annual DOI IT Security Awareness Training and compliance
