Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. seeks an experienced Senior Cloud Security Engineer to design, implement, and operate security across AWS multi-account and on‑prem environments. You will automate security operations and align with NIST/FedRAMP-like controls.

The role emphasizes Terraform-based architectures, security automation, and threat detection, with a fully remote setup and Public Trust eligibility. Strong collaboration with enterprise security teams is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in CS/IT/Engineering.
• 5+ years hands-on cloud security engineering experience.
• Experience designing, deploying, managing, and troubleshooting AWS security services.
• Experience securing hybrid on-premises/AWS environments.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, scripting and security automation.
• Strong networking and security fundamentals incl. TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, VPNs, TLS/PKI, IAM, Zero Trust, threat detection/prevention.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement security controls for AWS multi-account and hybrid-cloud environments.
• Deploy and manage AWS security services (Network Firewall, WAF, Shield, SGs/NACLs, GuardDuty, Security Hub, CloudTrail, Config, IAM/Identity Center, KMS, VPC, Transit Gateway).
• Design secure connectivity, segmentation, and security boundaries between AWS and on-premises environments.
• Develop secure architectures spanning AWS and on‑prem with defense-in-depth/Zero Trust; modernize with Terraform.
• Automate security operations, compliance reporting, configuration management, and policy enforcement.
