Job summary

FinOps Weekly is seeking a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to design, build, and operate latency-sensitive cloud platforms across trading desks and research workloads. You will own shared cloud capabilities and drive cross-team reliability.

You will lead a CME colocation to GCP migration, define observability standards, and ensure cost visibility through FinOps practices while collaborating with network and security teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a similar role.
• Extensive hands-on experience with both AWS and GCP in performance-sensitive environments.
• Deep expertise in cloud networking, including VPC design, hybrid connectivity, routing, and traffic control across AWS and GCP.
• Extensive experience using Terraform at scale.
• Direct experience supporting electronic trading or other low-latency systems.

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture and operation of cloud infrastructure supporting latency-sensitive trading systems across the firm.
• Design AWS and GCP network topologies with explicit routing, isolation, and traffic control.
• Lead infrastructure planning and execution for the migration of CME colocation workloads to GCP.
• Define compute placement strategies, including cluster placement groups and locality-aware scheduling.
• Build shared platform services that let engineering teams self-serve reliably and safely.
• Own cloud cost visibility and optimization frameworks across trading and research workloads.
• Set observability standards and own the cloud monitoring and alerting stack.
• Mentor engineers and help define infrastructure standards across teams.
