Job summary

Toptal is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to strengthen cloud operations, governance, and automation across Azure, AWS, and Kubernetes in a multi-cloud environment. The role blends reactive support with ongoing platform improvements and cross-team collaboration.

You will own day-to-day operations, drive infrastructure automation with Terraform, participate in on-call rotations, and work as an embedded member across Cloud Ops/DevOps to deliver reliable platform services for our clients.

Qualifications

Cloud engineering experience at L3/L4 scope.
Strong Azure experience with API Management, Front Door, Container Apps.
Working knowledge of AWS.
Broad multi-cloud background with depth in at least one area.
Experience with platform services, observability, governance, and troubleshooting.
Strong Terraform experience.
Ability to work independently in ambiguous environments.
Strong spoken English.
Ability to participate in on-call rotations and off-hours maintenance.
At least 6 hours of overlap with US business hours.
Ownership mindset and ability to operate as an embedded team member.

Responsibilities

Support day-to-day cloud operations across platform services, observability, and governance.
Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues in a multi-cloud environment.
Work with Kubernetes and cloud-native services to maintain platform stability.
Support Azure services, including API Management, Front Door, and Container Apps.
Contribute working knowledge of AWS where needed.
Automate infrastructure delivery and code deployment using Terraform and CI/CD pipelines.
Participate in on-call rotations and off-hours maintenance or deployments.
Coordinate with other teams to define tasks, remove blockers, and drive work to completion.
