Job summary

UnitedHealth Group's Optum Rx is seeking a Senior Software Developer to design, develop, test, and maintain scalable full‑stack applications using Node.js, React, and JavaScript in an AWS cloud environment, leading cloud-native solutions with AWS Lambda and MySQL RDS.

You will build AI-powered features for pharmacy services, collaborate with product and design teams, and drive quality through CI/CD, automated testing, and responsible AI practices while telecommuting from anywhere in the U.S.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of full-stack JavaScript engineering experience.
• 5+ years cloud applications deployment in AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• 3+ years building RESTful APIs and microservices.
• 2+ years in CI/CD and automated testing.
• 1+ year developing or using AI-driven tools in software applications.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, debug, and maintain scalable full-stack web applications and services using Node.js, React, and JavaScript.
• Architect, build, and deploy serverless microservices and cloud database solutions on AWS (Lambda, MySQL RDS).
• Design, develop, and deploy AI-powered features to address complex business challenges while following responsible AI guidelines.
• Leverage AI tools and modern development utilities to streamline workflows, automate testing, and drive CI/CD improvements.
• Evaluate emerging technologies to inform solution architecture and strategic technical innovation.
• Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, architects, and cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Drive code quality through CI, peer reviews, automated testing, and best practices; mentor team members and drive process improvements.
• Design, develop, and deploy AI-powered solutions addressing complex business challenges with focus on responsible AI.
