Job summary

Optum is seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise AI-enabled applications across the full SDLC. You will build scalable microservices, RESTful APIs, and cloud-native solutions while collaborating with product owners and architects to translate business needs into technical designs.

You'll work with Java Spring Boot and Python, React/Next.js frontends, and modern data platforms like Snowflake and Databricks.

Qualifications

• 3+ years backend engineering experience with Java Spring Boot and Python, incl. Spark/Kafka or similar for real-time data.
• 3+ years designing microservices/distributed architectures with focus on resilience and latency.
• 3+ years frontend experience with React/Angular/Next.js to support end-to-end delivery.
• 3+ years Azure cloud experience building cloud-native apps.
• 2+ years Python for AI pipelines and data processing.
• 2+ years experience in Snowflake/Databricks data warehousing.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise applications across AI-SDLC, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, deployment.
• Build scalable, secure APIs and services aligned with standards.
• Design microservices-based cloud-native solutions with emphasis on scalability and resiliency.
• Collaborate with product owners and architects to translate requirements into technical plans.
• Develop backend services using Java Spring Boot and Python.
• Develop front-end applications using React/Angular/Next.js.
• Design and integrate RESTful APIs and enterprise data integrations.
• Develop AI-powered solutions using modern AI/GenAI technologies.
• Build and operate Agentic AI solutions with orchestration and tooling.
• Work with Adobe Experience Platform capabilities as applicable.
• Build data warehousing with Snowflake/Databricks and manage large pipelines.
• Develop data pipeline frameworks and CI/CD with GitHub Actions and Terraform.
• Docker and Kubernetes (AKS) deployments for scalable apps.
• Maintain secure coding, testing, and monitoring practices.
