Job summary

Vervint is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to own cloud services powering a connected consumer robotics platform. This remote role covers API, persistence, and deployment, with Go and AWS CDK in a serverless/container mix on Lambda, ECS/Fargate, and more.

You will model data, design APIs, and ensure reliable device-to-app pipelines in a collaborative contract-driven environment. You will work with mobile and firmware teams to establish contracts, maintain backward compatibility, and extend

Qualifications

• 6+ years building production backend services in the cloud.
• Strong hands-on Go experience or deep experience in another statically typed language.
• Deep AWS experience across serverless and container services (Lambda, ECS/Fargate, API Gateway, DynamoDB, Kinesis, S3).
• Strong data modeling instincts, including DynamoDB key/index design and tradeoffs.
• Event-driven and stream processing experience with robust pipelines.
• API design and versioning compatible with mobile clients.
• Infrastructure as code experience, CDK preferred, plus IAM/KMS security practices.
• Strong testing discipline and ability to learn a layered codebase.

Responsibilities

• Own cloud services end to end from API contract through persistence and deployment.
• Implement real-time device-to-app path, MQTT telemetry to WebSocket/REST surfaces.
• Model device data for scale and cost with DynamoDB, S3, and search indexes.
• Design APIs for mobile teams while maintaining backward compatibility.
• Extend notifications, history, and reporting for reliable delivery to consumers.
• Collaborate with mobile and firmware teams to define contracts and document builds.
