Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain cloud-based solutions on AWS. You will partner with architects to deliver secure, scalable serverless applications and accelerators for consulting projects. Occasional travel may be required for kickoff weeks on long engagements.

The role emphasizes hands-on engineering with minimal delivery management, requiring strong collaboration and quick learning of new patterns and technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3+ years hands-on cloud development experience.
• 3+ years AWS experience (compute, storage, networking, security).
• Deep experience with Node.js Lambdas and AWS SDK for JavaScript.
• Experience with API Gateway, Cognito, Lambda and S3.
• Python scripting and boto3 library basics.
• Experience with infrastructure as code (AWS CDK, TypeScript).
• GIT-based source control experience (GitHub/GitLab/Bitbucket).
• Hands-on in EC2, ECS/EKS, or Lambda; observability and IAM security knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Translate requirements into high-quality, maintainable cloud code.
• Develop, test, and deploy modular accelerator code for projects.
• Integrate security, networking, and observability per designs.
• Participate in code reviews and apply feedback for improvement.
• Learn new patterns/technologies to meet evolving needs.
• Work with architects and delivery teams on cloud modernization goals.
