United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a Senior Cloud Data Engineer to support the Department of Veterans Affairs Data Modernization initiative. The role focuses on designing, provisioning, and automating cloud-based data workspaces using Databricks and VHA Data Lake integrations.

This is a fully remote position within the United States. You will lead provisioning automation, workspace setup, and cross-functional collaboration, ensuring secure, scalable data environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree plus 12 years of IT/engineering experience or commensurate experience.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Create cloud workspaces with commonly used tools to enable rapid onboarding.
• Lead migration from on-premises to cloud-based solutions.
• Automate provisioning processes for user intake and workspace creation.
• Lead cross-functional teams to ensure compliant workspace operations.
• Map users to workspace personas and configurations.
• Configure Databricks catalogs, mounts, and access controls in Prod/PreProd.
• Integrate Databricks with the VHA Data Lake and manage linked services and security.
• Document processes, SOPs, and access models for transparency and repeatability.
