Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Senior Cloud Data Engineer to design, provision, and automate cloud-based data workspaces for the VA Data Modernization initiative. This fully remote role is based in the United States and requires expertise in modern cloud tools, Databricks, VHA Data Lake integrations, and automated workspace creation.

The ideal candidate will lead migrations to cloud solutions, develop documentation for network designs and policies, and automate provisioning workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 12+ years in IT/engineering or related field.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Create cloud workspaces with common tools to enable rapid onboarding.
• Lead migration from on-prem to cloud solutions.
• Automate provisioning for user intake, workspace creation, and data access.
• Lead cross-functional teams to ensure compliant workspace operations.
• Document processes, SOPs, and access models for transparency.
