Job summary

Zekai is seeking senior chemists to guide frontier AI models in chemical reasoning. You will review problem quality, assess model outputs, and write precise problem specifications and reference solutions that define what correct looks like.

This is a fully remote contract role. Responsibilities include designing challenging benchmarks, calibrating expert judgment with researchers, and applying deep domain expertise in organic, physical, computational, or materials chemistry to advance AI

Qualifications

• PhD in chemistry or closely related field.
• Senior research role at a university, national lab, or research org.
• Genuine specialization in at least one chemistry area.
• Strong peer-reviewed publication record.
• Hands-on use of large language models in work.

Responsibilities

• Expert review: assess chemistry tasks and model outputs for plausibility.
• Write precise problem statements and reference solutions.
• Design benchmarks that are challenging and research-level.
• Calibration: convert tacit judgment into explicit criteria.
