Job summary

The Office of the Capital Collateral Regional Counsel–Northern Region seeks an Assistant Capital Collateral Regional Counsel II to represent indigent death row inmates in postconviction matters. The role includes handling state postconviction motions, appeals, and habeas petitions while collaborating with forensic experts and a dedicated team.

Qualifications

• Member of The Florida Bar in good standing.
• Experience in state postconviction litigation and appeals is preferred.
• Knowledge of postconviction process and deadlines under Florida rules.

Responsibilities

• Represent indigent death row inmates in postconviction proceedings.
• Investigate and litigate state postconviction motions and relief petitions.
• Prepare, file, and litigate appeals to the Florida Supreme Court and US Supreme Court as needed.
• Collaborate with investigators, experts, and other team members to build cases.
