Justice Administrative Commission in Florida seeks a Capital Postconviction Second-Chair Attorney for the Northern Region. The role represents indigent Florida death row inmates in postconviction proceedings at state and federal levels, involving litigation and appeals.

You will work with a team of attorneys and investigators, file motions, and collaborate with experts on guilt and penalty phase issues, with potential remote work if qualified.

Qualifications

• The qualified candidate must be a graduate of an accredited U.S. law school and a member in good standing with the Florida Bar.
• Must have excellent writing skills.
• Former public defenders with courtroom and/or appellate experience are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Litigate postconviction matters in state and federal courts.
• Handle appeals and writs in various courts as cases move through the postconviction process.
• Collaborate with a team of attorneys, investigators, witnesses and experts.
