Job summary

Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to tackle numerically precise, performance-sensitive C++ work connected to NC code generation. You will contribute from early on, pairing with senior engineers and handling complex geometric problems that translate CAD designs into CNC-ready instructions.

The role emphasizes coding ownership, deep understanding of geometry, and collaboration with QA/product teams in a remote-US setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelors or equivalent in CS, engineering, or math.
• Strong experience with modern C++ (C++11 or later).
• 5+ years of professional C++ development.
• Solid data structures, algorithms, and OO design background.
• Working knowledge of 3D math fundamentals and geometry learning attitude.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and test features in the NC code generation engine and dependencies.
• Investigate and fix defects in numerically sensitive code with careful judgment.
• Write and maintain unit and integration tests for correctness.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure numerical correctness and standards.
• Collaborate with QA and product teams to translate CAM requirements into solutions.
• Document evolving understanding of the system for team knowledge.
