Job summary

Huntington National Bank seeks an experienced underwriter for Business Banking loans. You will assess creditworthiness, review financial data, and resolve lending issues, ensuring compliance with bank policy. You will liaise with internal customers to support timely credit decisions.

You will document conditions to close and provide guidance on loan structure to bankers and specialists, with focus on moderate‑complexity credits and strong customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or Business.
3–5 years of experience underwriting or analyzing business or commercial clients in a banking environment.
Experience in a banking environment and ability to assess credit risk.
Experience in financial sales environment preferred.
Excellent analytical skills and ability to document transactions, risks and mitigants concisely.
Customer service focus and strong interpersonal skills for a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Independently underwrites and approves Business Banking loans up to $500,000 and analyzes application data.
Advises Business Bankers, Branch Managers, and Specialists on loan structure and terms.
Interacts with Lenders to understand the credit request and communicate decisions.
Documents loan decisions clearly, including conditions to close.
