Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Senior Manager, Data Science to lead AI, analytics, and reporting across the enterprise Contact Center Transformation initiative. This hands-on leader will drive model development, measurement, and value realization to reduce contacts and improve member experiences.

You will partner with business and technology teams, communicate at all levels, and guide investments in scalable AI capabilities across UHC and Optum.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in data science, advanced analytics, or applied machine learning.
• 3+ years using data and models to create strategic solutions to business opportunities.
• 2+ years leading analytics initiatives across multiple concurrent projects.
• 2+ years with AI/ML solutions in production or operations.
• 2+ years across cloud data platforms (Azure, Google Cloud).
• 2+ years in healthcare experience.
• 2+ years in highly collaborative, matrixed environments.
• 1+ years conducting business and financial analyses (opportunity sizing, cost/benefit).

Responsibilities

• Lead AI model development, optimization, and performance measurement across CCT workstreams.
• Define measurement frameworks, KPI definitions, and value-realization methodologies for AI initiatives.
• Partner with workstream owners to evaluate model performance and prioritize enhancements.
• Diagnose data pipeline issues across Azure and Google Cloud and drive root-cause analysis.
• Facilitate collaboration across business, operations, product, and technology teams.
• Prepare executive summaries, dashboards, and business cases for AI initiatives.
• Oversee opportunity sizing and cost/benefit analysis with required approvals.
