Job summary

The University of the Cumberlands is seeking a Staff Business Intelligence Developer to serve as the senior technical lead for BI development within the Office of Innovation. This hands‑on individual‑contributor role designs, builds, and maintains enterprise Power BI solutions that support operational reporting, KPI tracking, executive visibility, and strategic decision‑making across the University.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of hands-on experience developing enterprise Power BI dashboards, reports, and semantic models.
Advanced Power BI skills: data modeling, DAX, performance optimization, report publishing, workspace management.
Strong SQL: joins, aggregations, CTEs, window functions, troubleshooting, and dataset validation.
Hands-on experience building BI solutions on Snowflake or a comparable cloud data warehouse.
Experience with BI security patterns and governance practices.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, publish, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports for executive and operational audiences.
Create and maintain reusable semantic models on certified Snowflake data assets.
Write and optimize DAX, SQL, and data model logic; define Snowflake views when needed.
Lead BI standardization efforts and mentor analysts as the team grows.
