Job summary

Cyclops is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with a backend focus to own critical backend systems in a product-driven environment. You’ll work primarily on TypeScript/Node.js backends, REST APIs, and PostgreSQL, with occasional UI work when needed for integrations or SDKs.

You’ll operate with high ownership, design robust services end-to-end, and collaborate with Product Managers, the Engineering Manager, and peers to evolve the platform. This is a remote role open to candidates in the US.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional software development experience.
• Backend expertise with TypeScript and Node.js.
• Experience owning a service end-to-end from requirements to production support.
• Strong API design and data modeling skills.
• Ability to work with ambiguity and take initiative.
• Excellent written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement backend features using TypeScript and Node.js.
• Work with PostgreSQL data modeling and migrations.
• Own services end-to-end and drive vendor integrations when needed.
• Investigate incidents and improve production reliability.
• Improve observability with logs and metrics.
• Collaborate with Product and EM to clarify requirements.
• Review code and mentor engineers; contribute to React UI when needed.
