Hunter Industries seeks a Senior Software Engineer (Backend/Cloud) to lead AWS-based IoT backend systems and contribute hands-on code. This remote role serves US residents, aligning with Pacific Time business hours and occasional travel to California.

You will mentor engineers, design scalable architectures, and own APIs, data models, and telemetry pipelines across the backend stack, ensuring secure, reliable cloud services for the IoT platform.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
• Minimum six years of professional software engineering experience, including four years designing and operating backend/cloud systems in production.
• Experience leading technical design for distributed, serverless, event-driven, or IoT-connected systems highly preferred.

Aufgaben

• Lead backend and cloud services design for a scalable AWS-based IoT consumer application.
• Own backend architecture across APIs, service domains, data models, event-driven workflows, telemetry pipelines, and cloud/device communication patterns.
• Design and implement Python-based AWS Lambda microservices, RESTful APIs, and backend services connecting mobile and web apps to cloud and devices.
• Provide hands-on leadership through design reviews, mentoring, and implementation guidance.
• Define and document architecture patterns, API contracts, data flows and operational expectations.
