Job summary

The American Chemical Society is seeking a Senior Auditor to lead diverse internal and external audits and special projects. This remote role supports the organization from anywhere within the United States, with travel up to 10% as needed.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of audit experience, strong COSO knowledge, and credentials (CIA/CPA preferred). Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred. Join a team focused on risk management, process improvement, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Master's Degree Accounting or MBA preferred.
• At least 4 years of experience in internal and/or external auditing.
• CIA or CPA certification preferred.
• Knowledge of GAAP and external compliance.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute internal audits across the organization.
• Lead diverse audit engagements and prepare clear reports for senior leadership.
• Identify process improvements and partner with finance/operations leaders.
• Conduct follow-up reviews to verify corrective actions.
