Job summary

AHCCCS, the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System, seeks a Senior Associate General Counsel - Regulatory to provide legal counsel on AHCCCS programs and regulatory initiatives. The role interfaces with multiple divisions and supports rulemaking, policy development, and litigation strategy.

A strong background in health law and public-sector contexts is essential. Remote work is possible under the State of Arizona program; candidates should be prepared for occasional in-person collaboration

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate; current license to practice law in Arizona.
• Experience in health law or Medicare/Medicaid preferred.
• Leadership of large organization or unit desired.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal counsel and business advice to agency divisions daily.
• Review, negotiate contracts and intergovernmental agreements.
• Interpret statutes, regulations, and policy proposals.
• Supervise staff; prepare status and statistical reports.
