Job summary

Leading international law firm is seeking a Senior Associate Attorney with a specialty in Insurance Coverage to join its Insurance Coverage Practice Group in a remote-friendly arrangement. The role emphasizes handling complex coverage disputes for domestic and international insurers, including CGL, property, E&O, and D&O matters.

Candidate must have a JD from an ABA-accredited law school with honors, California Bar in good standing, and at least six years of substantive litigation experience

Qualifications

• JD from an ABA-accredited law school with an excellent academic record
• Law Review and/or Honors required
• Active Bar Admission in California, in good standing
• 6+ years of substantive litigation experience, with a focus on insurance coverage matters
• Admission to other states (TX, NY, WA, CO) is an asset
• Experience analyzing complex insurance policies
• Ability to provide clear coverage recommendations
• Drafting litigation-related documents
• Experience participating in litigation proceedings including depositions and mediations
• Familiarity with bad faith insurance claims, commercial general liability, commercial property, errors & omissions, and directors & officers

Responsibilities

• Analyze insurance policies and draft detailed coverage opinions
• Provide clear and actionable coverage recommendations for clients
• Conduct legal research using Westlaw, Lexis, and other research tools
• Participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials
• Draft interrogatories, document requests, and responses
• Review and analyze document collections in preparation for litigation
• Engage in direct communication with domestic and international insurers
• Collaborate with partners and team members to advance case objectives with efficiency and precision
