Job summary

Dexcom Inc. is seeking a senior algorithm engineer to lead development of advanced algorithms for next-generation glucose sensing technologies.

You will design signal processing, estimation, calibration, and predictive models while applying machine learning and statistical methods to diverse datasets from bench to real-world use. The role requires a PhD with 2+ years of industry experience or a Master’s with 2–5 years, expert Python/MATLAB/C/C++, and strong modeling skills.

Qualifications

• PhD in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Biophysics, Statistics, or related field with 2 years of industry experience; or a Master's degree with 2–5 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of advanced algorithms for next-generation glucose sensing technologies.
• Develop physics-based, mechanistic, and data-driven models to characterize sensor behavior and improve measurement performance.
• Design and implement signal processing, estimation, calibration, detection, and predictive algorithms.
• Apply statistical modeling, machine learning, and data analytics to bench, preclinical, clinical, and real-world datasets.
• Drive clinical performance assessments and algorithm maturation in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Evaluate algorithm performance via simulation, modeling, and experimental analysis.
• Provide technical insights on architecture, tradeoffs, verification strategies, and implementation approaches.
• Identify opportunities to optimize system performance and resource utilization.
• Facilitate algorithm transfer activities with firmware, verification, and validation teams.
