UnitedHealthcare is seeking a Sr AI/ML Engineer to join the LMIS team, advancing underwriting workflows with AI, LLMs, and RAG pipelines. Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering, system integration, or ML engineering
• 3+ years building and deploying robust web APIs in production
• 3+ years Python with ML libraries (NumPy, Pandas, PyTorch, TensorFlow, etc.)
• 1+ years working with LLMs or generative AI concepts
• Experience designing or implementing RAG pipelines with embeddings and vector databases
• Driver's license and reliable transportation

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy AI-powered solutions for underwriting and benefits
• Build RAG pipelines integrating enterprise sources and LLM orchestration
• Support MCP-enabled agent architectures and secure agent-to-agent workflows
• Leverage AI tools to streamline workflows and automate tasks
• Evaluate trends and tools to inform architecture and modernization
• Develop robust Python-based ML capabilities for underwriting needs
• Create high-performance API endpoints for production ML models
• Integrate LLMs into production to improve user workflows
• Collaborate with engineers and underwriting stakeholders on scalable pipelines
• Ensure availability, security, and performance through testing and monitoring
