Tropiq is seeking a Senior Aeronautical Engineer — Flight Safety to anchor our data-driven approach to safe flight planning. You’ll translate first-principles aircraft performance into practical software in close partnership with manufacturers, pilots, and safety authorities, enabling decisions that improve in‑flight safety.

Qualifications

• Degree in aeronautical/aerospace engineering or equivalent depth.
• Experience translating performance and safety models into software for flight planning.
• Strong grasp of aircraft performance.
• Experience or willingness to use AI/ML to extend modelling and validate against ground truth.

Responsibilities

• Model aircraft performance — takeoff and landing distance, climb, weight and balance.
• Develop advanced performance data with manufacturing partners, including unique charts.
• Build safety functionality linking terrain, obstacles, icing, runway condition and performance limits.
• Combine first-principles models with AI where it adds accuracy, with proper validation.
• Work with pilots and engineers to ensure the math is usable in cockpit tools.
