Job summary

Salas O’Brien is seeking a Senior Acoustics Consultant to lead complex acoustics and multi-disciplinary projects with autonomy from a remote U.S. base, delivering measurable outcomes for data centers, venues and campuses.

You will collaborate with engineers and architects, mentor teammates, and contribute to business development in the U.S. and Canada while applying SoundPlan modeling, field measurements and rigorous reporting to ensure sound control, comfort and compliance across projects.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in acoustics design and measurements for the built environment.
• Experience in environmental and architectural acoustics, field measurement, and on-site construction observation with emphasis on environmental acoustics near mechanical/power equipment.
• Ability to design and prepare acoustics reports, perform sound isolation calculations, prepare schedules and specifications, and interact with clients and design team members daily.
• Ability to serve as Project Manager/Lead Acoustics Consultant on various projects and mentor team members.

Responsibilities

• Serve as acoustics lead or Project Manager on wide variety of acoustics and multi-disciplinary projects.
• Assist, support and mentor other acoustics team members.
• Lead and support acoustics projects in Canada.
• Assist with business development opportunities and new relationship opportunities in Canada and the United States.
