Job summary

PMY Group seeks a Senior Sound Systems Consultant to lead design and delivery of professional audio for major sports venues and large facilities. You will guide projects from programming through commissioning, liaising with owners, architects, and contractors, and mentoring junior designers.

The role emphasizes independent leadership, high performance systems, and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams to ensure reliable, audibly optimized outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
• Ten+ years of progressively responsible experience designing professional sound systems.
• Experience with stadiums, arenas, large sports facilities, or similar venues.
• Experience leading sound system projects through design, documentation, construction administration, testing and commissioning.
• Strong knowledge of acoustics, DSP, networking, and system optimization.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, and coordination with project teams.
• Willingness to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of sound reinforcement, public address, distributed audio, paging, and related systems for large venues.
• Meet with clients and stakeholders to define requirements and priorities.
• Develop system architectures covering loudspeakers, amplification, DSP, networking, and control.
• Prepare power requirements, configurations, and calculations.
• Create electro-acoustic models using EASE or similar software.
• Coordinate designs with architecture, acoustics, structure, electrical, and other disciplines.
• Lead client meetings, design reviews, and coordination workshops.
• Lead testing, tuning, and commissioning with professional equipment.
