Job summary

Salas O'Brien, Inc. is seeking a Senior Acoustics Consultant to lead complex acoustics projects nationwide, collaborating with engineers and architects on data centers, venues, healthcare and more. Remote in the U.S.

with travel up to 10% and a focus on environmental and architectural acoustics, modelling, and client interaction. You’ll mentor teammates, manage multidisciplinary projects, and contribute to business development across the U.S.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in acoustics design and measurements for the built environment.
• Experience in environmental and architectural acoustics, field measurement, and on-site construction observation.
• Ability to design and prepare acoustics reports, conduct calculations related to sound isolation and room acoustics.
• Project management capability and mentoring responsibilities.
• A minimum bachelor’s degree in engineering or other STEM fields.
• Skills and experience in computer modelling (SoundPlan).
• Desire to work on multi-discipline projects with design teams.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Serve as acoustics lead or Project Manager on wide variety of acoustics and multi-disciplinary projects.
• Assist, support and mentor other acoustics team members.

Salas O’Brien is looking for an experienced Acoustics Consultant to join our Team.

Our acoustics team is growing rapidly, offering an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic and expanding practice. You'll work on high-profile, technically challenging projects alongside some of the industry's top engineers and architects. Our portfolio spans data centers, sports and entertainment venues, healthcare, hospitality, corporate, residential, and educational facilities across the country.

• Serve as acoustics lead or Project Manager on wide variety of acoustics and multi-disciplinary projects.
• Assist, support and mentor other acoustics team members.
• Lead and support acoustics projects in Canada.
• Assist with business development opportunities and new relationship opportunities in Canada and the United States.

Qualifications:

• 8+ years of experience in acoustics design and measurements for the built environment.
• Experience in environmental and architectural acoustics, field measurement, and on-site construction observation. This position will focus on environmental acoustics experience, particularly with mechanical and power generation equipment located in urban and suburban environments.
• The ability to design and prepare acoustics reports, conduct drawing reviews, perform calculations related to sound isolation, noise control and room acoustics, prepare schedules and specifications, and interact with clients and design team members on a daily basis.
• The ability to serve as Project Manager/Lead Acoustics Consultant on a variety of projects as well as assist, support and mentor other acoustics team members.
• A minimum bachelor’s degree in engineering or other STEM fields.
• Skills and experience in computer modelling (SoundPlan).
• A desire to work on multi-discipline projects with talented design teams.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently.

Actual compensation will be determined based on a number of factors including skills, experience, qualifications, and location. The expected base salary range for this role is $100,000 - $125,000USD per year depending on experience. This role is also eligible forperformance-based bonuses and a comprehensiveU.S. basedbenefits package, including:
