Job summary

Dockwa, a fast-growing SaaS company reshaping the marine industry, is seeking a Senior Accounting Manager to own the core accounting function. Reporting to the VP of Finance, you’ll oversee month-end close, audits, and tax, and partner with RevOps on OTC.

This remote-first role allows you to live anywhere in the US, with Newport, RI as a nearby office option. You’ll lead a hands-on team, drive process improvements, ensure data integrity, and work cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 7+ years progressive accounting experience, including 2+ years in a senior or management role.
• Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP and full-cycle month-end close experience.
• Experience managing external audits and corporate tax return preparation.
• Experience with multi-state payroll compliance and external payroll providers.
• Excellent analytical skills and a process-improvement mindset.
• Ability to work independently in a remote-first environment.

Responsibilities

• Own the full monthly close process with journal entries and reconciliations.
• Lead external audits and corporate tax return preparation.
• Partner with RevOps to manage revenue recognition and OTC processes.
• Address regulatory, tax, and compliance matters as needed.
• Oversee end-to-end payroll processing (multi-state) and year-end reporting.
• Identify and implement accounting process improvements and automation.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Operations on payments and data integrity.
