Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Senior Accounting Clerk for a nationwide remote role. The position handles accounts payable/receivable, billing, and related financial reporting within the Specialty Care Management department.

You’ll reconcile accounts, prepare monthly statements, and maintain relationships with vendors and clients while ensuring compliance with program billing parameters. Training is provided, with flexible shifts within business hours.

Qualifications

• Must have 1+ year experience with billing or collecting transplant accounts.
• Must have 1+ years of Medicare, Commercial or Medicaid billing and collections knowledge.
• 1+ years of billing or collecting from a facility, not insurance.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Review, validate and maintain financial and other records related to client programs.
• Timely reconciliation of all accounts.
• Communicate financial discrepancies and resolve.
• Submit client billing based on billing parameters.
• Manage all financial exchanges related to participant accounts.
• Identify errors in invoices/data and resolve.
• Reconcile funding with disbursements on each participant account.
• Assist with completion of quarterly reporting.
• Maintain and review contracts with outside vendors.
• Answer phones and direct calls to appropriate staff.
• Prepare various financial, programmatic and administrative reports.
• Investigate discrepancies between finance and claims departments.
• Perform routine audit of financial accounts.
