Aston Carter is seeking a CPA-qualified professional for a remote, long-term engagement to support a large-scale disaster recovery housing program from Raleigh, NC. The role focuses on managing financial operations during ramp-up, including payment processing, reconciliations, and GAAP-compliant reporting across multiple funding streams.

Qualifications

• CPA credential active or eligible.
• 5+ years accounting/finance experience including reconciliations.
• Strong understanding of GAAP accounting principles.
• Experience managing high-volume financial transactions.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel.
• Experience with multiple bank accounts and cash management activities.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-moving, less structured environment.

Responsibilities

• Managing program-related bank accounts.
• Performing ongoing reconciliations.
• Ensuring GAAP-compliant accounting.
• Supporting high-volume transaction tracking (AR/AP, reimbursements, contractor payments).
• Partner with compliance and program leadership to maintain accurate financial records and support audit readiness.
