Job summary

KeepingCount is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our global team supporting U.S.-based clients across real estate, e-commerce, life sciences, and professional services. This remote role with Argentina or Chile alignment combines hands-on accounting, client liaison, and financial reporting with opportunities to mentor junior staff.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Experience supporting U.S.-based clients or U.S. accounting operations
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting
• Experience managing month-end close processes
• Experience reviewing the work of junior accountants or bookkeepers
• Advanced QuickBooks Online experience
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Ability to work full-time during U.S. business hours
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary accounting contact for a portfolio of U.S.-based clients
• Build trusted relationships through consistent communication and reliable service
• Present financial results and insights clearly and professionally
• Partner with clients to resolve accounting issues and improve financial processes
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements, supporting schedules, and management reports
• Manage month-end and year-end close processes
• Review reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and adjusting entries
• Perform account analysis and ensure accuracy of financial records
• Support cash management, restricted cash tracking, trust accounting, and balance sheet reconciliations
• Assist with sales tax and other compliance-related activities
• Review staff accountant work for accuracy and adherence to standards
• Provide coaching and mentorship to junior team members
• Ensure deliverables are completed accurately and on schedule
• Support onboarding of new clients, including cleanup projects and system setup
• Support budgeting, forecasting, KPI reporting, and cash flow analysis
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation and process enhancements
• Assist with special projects and client advisory initiatives
• Utilize cloud-based platforms including QuickBooks Online, Sage Intacct, Bill.com, Gusto, Divvy, HubDoc, ChargeOver, BigTime, Guesty, Streamline
