Job summary

Akima Systems Engineering (ASE) seeks a Lead Security Installation Specialist to drive PACS and video surveillance installations for WAPA. You will manage on-site and remote teams, read schematics, coordinate with vendors, and ensure NEC electrical safety. If MCIT or low-voltage licensing exists, it’s a plus.

The role is remote with extensive travel to DSW Region (AZ, CA, NV); pay ranges from $90,000 to $100,000, and benefits are available for full-time staff.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship with ability to pass DoE background checks.
• Current passport and valid driver’s license.
• High school or trade diploma; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• At least 10 years of progressive technical experience leading security system installations (PACS and VSS).
• Extensive experience as a team lead with scheduling and personnel management.
• Experience as a technician installing electronics/electrical systems including intrusion detection, access control, video surveillance, intercoms, mass notification, conduit, and low voltage systems.
• Ability to use basic test equipment and document site test data.
• Ability to work in a demanding, deadline-driven environment; detail-oriented and self-motivated.
• Strong verbal communication; able to work independently or with limited supervision.
• Ability to install, test and troubleshoot security system equipment; read schematics and maintenance manuals.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary leader for project execution; develops schedules and ensures adherence to plans.
• Assist in managing scope of work, procurement, quality of project materials, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Manage install teams in remote locations.
• Install electronic and technical security systems per DoE guidelines and requirements.
• Read and interpret electrical, electronic, and electro-mechanical schematics.
• Use test equipment such as multimeters and cable testers.
• Follow wiring guidelines and read building construction plans (blueprints).
• Ensure NEC compliance and electrical safety practices.
• Perform maintenance, installation, troubleshooting, and testing of security wiring and power circuits.
• Work with various systems including IP CCTV (Milestone) and Access Control (Lenel), as well as locks and related hardware.
