AssemblyAI, Inc. is hiring a Security Operations Engineer to own day-to-day security operations, GRC activities, and audit readiness.

You will drive compliance cycles, automate controls, and coordinate with auditors while partnering with engineers across the company to strengthen our security posture. You'll work on a high-impact, fast-growing security program that enables trust with customers and supports our expanding AI platform.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in security operations, GRC, or IT security.
• 2+ years in compliance audit cycles with evidence and controls.
• Security certifications such as CISA, Security+, AWS Security Specialty.
• Experience with vulnerability tracking and remediation.
• Strong written communication for audit docs and responses.
• Proficiency in Python and scripting; AI tooling familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Lead SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI 4.0 audits end-to-end.
• Automate controls and evidence collection via platforms.
• Run vendor risk reviews and security assessments.
• Respond to customer security questionnaires and RFPs.
• Manage vulnerability triage and remediation tracking.
• Develop and maintain security runbooks and docs.
• Collaborate with engineers, sales, and legal on security needs.
• Support incident response and post-incident actions.
