Job summary

North Carolina Connections Academy seeks a Secondary English Teacher to deliver high-quality virtual instruction to students across the state. You will work from home or a Durham office, leveraging Pearson Online Classroom and other LMS tools to support learners and families.

Responsibilities include grading, lesson prep, and timely communications, while aligning to IEP/504 plans and state testing requirements. A NC ELA license and strong technology skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Valid North Carolina Teaching License with certification in English Language Arts (ELA).
• Residency in North Carolina preferred.
• Full-time schedule 8am–4pm, Monday to Friday.
• Virtual instruction experience encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Deliver asynchronous and synchronous instruction in whole group, small group, and 1-1 settings.
• Complete grading, lesson prep, and communications within required timeframes.
• Maintain knowledge of content and adapt lessons for student understanding.
• Support IEPs and Section 504 Plans for students in assigned courses.
• Collaborate with school staff via online tools and LMS for daily operations.
