Job summary

North Carolina Connections Academy is seeking a Secondary Social Studies Teacher to deliver high-quality virtual instruction from a home or Durham office. You will support students via asynchronous and synchronous sessions, communicate with learning coaches, and ensure timely grading and feedback.

The role requires a valid NC Teaching License with Social Studies certification, NC residency preferred, and a full-time schedule (8am–4pm).

Qualifications

• Valid North Carolina Teaching License with Social Studies certification (grade level appropriate).
• Residency in North Carolina preferred.
• Availability to work full-time (8am–4pm).
• Willingness to travel for school-based meetings, training, field trips, and state testing events.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality virtual instruction using Pearson Online Classroom.
• Grade assignments, communicate with students and learning coaches within required timeframes.
• Review curriculum and adapt lessons to improve student understanding.
• Maintain student records, attendance, and data; support IEP/504 plans.
• Serve as Homeroom teacher and primary contact for a group of students.
