Job summary

Claremont McKenna College seeks a Seasonal Application Reader (Part Time) to evaluate first-year applications for the 2026–27 cycle. This fully remote role requires residing in California and access to a computer with high-speed internet.

Work is five hours per day, three weekdays per week, from November 2026 through March 2027, at $28.00 per hour. Reporting to the Director of Admission, you will read applications in pairs, write concise summaries, and contribute to the committee-based review

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Experience reading applications in a holistic admissions process preferred.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Responsibilities

• Read and evaluate first-year applications in pairs with admission staff.
• Write clear summaries and recommendations for each application.
• Apply CMC's mission and enrollment priorities consistently.
• Participate in reader training in November and Zoom check-ins with admission staff.
• Complete occasional application processing tasks in Slate as needed.
